Stigma carries a health cost
Atlas Pathways develops education, resources, and research on the mental health and well-being of minor-attracted people, a population facing heavy stigma and few sources of practical help.

Attraction to Minors: Fact vs Fiction
TRUE: Most with an attraction to children will never have inappropriate contact
While there may be no "cure for pedophilia", the vast majority are able to avoid acting on their fantasies, just like the average person can find another adults attractive but not assault them.
TRUE: Most MAPs find their own attractions distressing
This is not something anyone wants to deal with, and a high percentage of MAPs struggle with suicidal thoughts. However, it is absolutely possible to have these feelings and live a positive, fulfilled life.
TRUE: Very few resources exist to help MAPs deal with their thoughts
If you're here you probably already know this is true. Disclosure to a therapist can be overwhelming and risky. Most of the written works are academic, and self help is almost non-existent outside peer support forums & chat.
FALSE: Pedophile/MAP = child molester
Most MAPs never harm anyone. Attraction alone does not predict behavior or make you a sex offender, actually harming a child does.
FALSE: Attraction to minors is a choice
Sexual attraction patterns form early and are not chosen or changeable through willpower. However, therapy and other tools can help with related mental health issues, and support the formation of age-appropriate relationships.
FALSE: You are just trying to legitimize relationships with minors
Absolutely not. We refer to MAP as an "orientation" not to conflate it with LGBTQ issues, but to emphasize the core, unwavering nature of this attraction.Atlas Pathways does not condone any inappropriate contact between adults and minors.
About Atlas Pathways
For someone who discovers they are attracted to minors, the options are narrow. There is dense academic writing meant for researchers, or individual therapy, which many people cannot afford and many more are afraid to risk. There are faith-based or punitive programs built around outdated concepts and shame. And there is very little in between that a person can actually pick up and use. Most people reach that point alone, often after years of silence.Atlas Pathways works in consultation with minor-attracted people and attempts to help fill that gap with accessible educational tools, and public outreach to reduce stigma.

Our Values
Atlas Pathways holds a few clear commitments: We treat minor-attracted people as people, worthy of well-being and respect, whatever the wider culture says.
We are an educational organization, not a clinical one. We do not provide therapy, treatment, or legal advice. For anyone in acute distress or crisis, we point to 988 and other immediate resources.
We draw a firm line at conduct. Atlas Pathways does not condone or support any sexual contact between adults and minors, or any other illegal behavior, under any circumstances.
